A company overview

CSAI - Centro Servizi Ambiente Impianti is a public-private partnership in the province of Arezzo (Tuscany, Italy) which owns and operates two landfills for municipal waste and non-hazardous waste, one in the Municipality of Terranuova Bracciolini, called "Podere Rota", the other one in the Municipality of Castiglion Fibocchi, called "Il Pero".

The two landfills are equipped with biogas recovery system producing energy from waste (20.692 MWh during 2011, equal to the average annual electricity needs over 9.000 households) but our commitment to the renewable energy field extends to the construction of a wind farm in the Municipality of Talla where we are present together with other Tuscan enterprises.

CSAI participates in the share capital of others companies working in the field of integrated waste cycle of the territory, thereby extending its mission relished not only to the disposal activities but also to the recovery of material and energy.

The quality of service and respect for the environment are the two cornerstones of the daily CSAI action, which for this purpose is equipped with both a management system certified according to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, EMAS and a strict behavioral model, through the establishment of a Supervisory Board (so called "Model 231") and a code of ethics in accordance with the principles and moral values that inform models of business conduct.

Reduce its ecological footprint is the subject of significant research projects in science and technology, in collaboration with italian and foreign universities and other companies in the sector, often supported by European Commission and Italian Government funding, especially in the field of carbon capture and storage, the efficient recovery of methane and the containment of the spread of bad odors in the management of landfills. Lastly, this website cancels emissions associated with its traffic patterns through a reforestation project in Costa Rica.
